10 Myths About Cancer



Over the years there have been many cancer myths floating around. The question is whether there is any truth to the myths of cancer.

1. Hair dye cause brain cancer
There has been much speculation about the hair dye and cancer. There is a thought that hair dyes cause several types of cancers such as bladder cancer and breast cancer, but there is no evidence it causes brain tumors. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association on May 25, hair dye does not increase the risk of cancer. This cancer myth believed by many Americans.

2. Cell phones cause cancer
Contrary to popular belief, the phone is not believed to cause cancer. To date, no credible research that consistently proves that using a cell phone has the ability to cause cancer.

3. Cancer is a genetic disease
While it is true that some cancers are genetic, this does not mean that all will definitely develop cancer because their offspring. Cancers such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer and colorectal cancer are some of the cancers that can be genetically inherited. If a parent has cancer, cancer genes might flow to their children. If a child inherits the gene, only increases the chances of cancer, not cancer definite guarantee.

4. Cancer causes hair loss
Cancer does not cause hair loss. Hair loss is a side effect of cancer treatment, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Not all people who do chemotherapy or radiation experience hair loss.

5. Only women with breast cancer
It is the biggest cancer myth of all myths that exist. Men also get breast cancer! Men get breast cancer too. Approximately 1500 people are diagnosed and about 500 men will die from the disease this year. Breast cancer is not common in men, but it still happens.

6. There is a cure for cancer, but pharmaceutical companies hide
It is a myth that cancer-fetched. If this is true, then why do the people who loved the drug company researchers still died of cancer at the same rate as the general population? What people do not realize that many forms of cancer that can be cured?

7. Cancer is almost always fatal
Yes, cancer can lead to death. But a new breakthrough in the early detection of cancer has been made much easier with cancer treatment. About 40% or more of cancer patients, survivors in the last five years.

8. Wearing antiperspirant and deodorant can cause cancer
According to the National Cancer Society, there is no conclusive evidence from recent studies that use and doedorant antiperspirant can cause breast cancer. Myth cancer is one of the most popular among women.

9. Several types of cancer can be contagious
There is no type of cancer that is contagious. However, there are two known contagious viruses, HPV and Hepatitis C which can cause cancer. HPV is a risk factor for cervical cancer and Hepatitis C causes liver cancer. Both viruses can be transmitted through sexual contact, although more often Hepatitis C is transmitted through needles and transfusions (before 1992).

10. Positive perpikir will cure cancer
While maintaining a positive outlook during cancer treatment is important, it will not cure cancer. Being optimistic helps with quality of life during treatment. There is no scientific evidence that a positive attitude will cure cancer.
